- A preliminary hedge survey of woody plants in Senni Valley's hedgerows was done on 02/07/2005.
- "From Sennybridge downstream the banks of the River Usk are well wooded, this being part of the Abercamlais estate, whose former owner, the late Captain Neville Garnons-Williams, was particularly interested and expert in silviculture. Immediately to the east of the old bridge across the Usk, at Coed Waungar, there is an exceptionally fine stand of mature oak and beech. A little further downstream this is replaced by conifer plantations on both banks. This is Gibraltar Wood, which is also of interest because it contains a heronry." Extract from Domesday 1986.

- Below are photos taken in April 2005 of some of the trees in flower in the upper Senni Valley. Click on a picture to enlarge it.
